3 Keys to Wellness Your Doctor Isn’t Telling You

Here’s the sad reality: conventional medicine is all about treating symptoms and rarely bothers with preventing illness and disease in the first place.

And I don’t mean to sound harsh but a lot of conventionally trained doctors tend to go straight to quick fixes for surface symptoms, instead of looking at the whole person and getting to the root cause of what’s really got us out of whack…

The good news? There are simple steps you can take at home to start improving your health and wellness.

My advice?

I know the new year is just around the corner but don’t wait until January 1st to start these healthy habits. Make these simple changes asap and get in a new groove starting n-o-w.

I mean, really…why wait?

Because the beauty of these 3 keys to wellness is their simplicity.

It’s so easy this time of year to go all-out at the gym everyday for the month of January and then totally fizzle out by the time the kids are out for spring break…

Instead, try picking up these three easy habits — they don’t cost a ton of time or money so it’ll be a whole lot easier to stick with them for the long term (especially when you start noticing how much better you feel!)

  1. Rethink how you start and end your day: When we wake up, how we start our day can help or sabotage our hormone balance. Avoid looking at your phone first thing and instead get outside for a walk and Vitamin D. Same goes for nighttime habits: turn off screens at least 1 hour before going to sleep and don’t keep your phone by your bed!

  2. Break your fast with at least 30g of protein: Your first meal of the day should be high protein to stimulate muscle cells to start building muscle, which is important for longevity.

  3. Work on incorporating strength-based workouts into your routine: If you’re just starting out with strength-based workouts, give yourself grace! Once a week for 20 minutes is a great place to start. Gradually see if you can work up to 4-5 workouts per week of 20-30 minutes each. You don’t need a gym membership for this! Buy some hand weights / dumbbells and enjoy all the free workout videos available on YouTube. You can try searching for HIIT or Tabata style workouts to get suggestions!

Remember: our habits, reaction to stress and lifestyle directly impact hormone levels.

Support your body with these basic dietary, lifestyle and exercise keys and everything else will begin to follow…

Cheers to a 2023 full of possibility!
